Arxan Technologies, a provider of application hardening solutions that protect software applications from attacks to minimize risk to code and intellectual property,
has introduced a comprehensive, all-in-one software protection solutions suite.
Company officials said that the new Software Protection Solutions suite is designed to protect and respond to a variety of independent service vendor application attacks, including binary code modification, host-id spoofing, and key discovery.
Mike Dager, CEO at Arxan Technologies (

He said that the company’s Software Protection Solutions suite offers publishers the ability to incorporate “best-of-breed” software protection from a ‘one-stop shop’ source to guard against attempted attacks.
Arxan’s Software Protection Solutions suite includes GuardIT for Piracy Alerting to track and monetize piracy; GuardIT for FLEXnet Publisher to ensure license management security; and GuardIT for Application Hardening to ensure code integrity and protect intellectual property.
In addition, the suite also includes BindIT for secure node-locking against host-id spoofing; and TransformIT for software-based key protection to prevent key generation attacks.
“Arxan’s Software Protection Solutions provide a great opportunity for EDAC members to manage their risk and revenue,” said Scott Baeder, chairman of Anti-Piracy at EDAC.
He said that Arxan’s seamless coupling of application hardening with machine fingerprinting – GuardIT and BindIT – is a “truly compelling” offering that secures applications from a pervasive problem. He added that ISVs can complement their security by GuardIT for FLEXnet Publisher as required.
Arxan’s Software Protection Solutions bundle feature real time piracy alerts for ISVs that help publishers characterize and monetize use of pirated software via Arxan’s Detection and Remote Notify Reaction capabilities to gather and transmit forensics information.
Additional feature include preventing piracy and license management circumvention. Company officials said that GuardIT is the “only platform” that provides comprehensive protection to protect code against tampering, reverse engineering and circumvention for native, managed and interpreted code.
With GuardIT, developers can defend, detect and react to binary code modification attacks in a manner that is easy to deploy and non-disruptive to the software development process and run-time performance, according to officials.
BindIT prevents Host-ID Spoofing, said officials. This software-based secure node-locking solution is powered by Uniloc. Officials said that BindIT’s fingerprinting mechanisms are secured in place by implementing GuardIT in conjunction that leads to a hardened node locking solution that can reduce piracy.
Arxan’s TransformIT provides key transformation to protect secrets. Based on white box cryptography, the product combines mathematical algorithms, data and code obfuscation techniques to conceal secret key and related operations. Officials said that with transformation, the key never is revealed, and therefore can better safeguard assets.
