Hitachi Data Systems Inks Reseller Deal with InMage

Hitachi Data Systems will co-brand and resell InMage Systems’ InMage Appshot technology.

 

This move further expands Hitachi’s (News - Alert) portfolio of replication and data protection software to address the operational and economic needs of customers of Hitachi midrange storage systems.

 

Steve Duplessie, senior analyst and founder, Enterprise Strategy Group finds this to be a good strategic move for Hitachi Data Systems (News - Alert) and a validation for InMage. He noted that the latest alliance allows Hitachi Data Systems and its partners to compete more effectively in far more opportunities. This move will also enable joint customers to address the strictest RPO/RTO requirements and improve on recovery reliability.

 

John Ferraro, CEO, InMage expressed his company’s excitement to work with Hitachi Data Systems to provide data replication and application recovery solutions. He expects this collaboration will help them address the current cost, management and capability challenges facing mid-market data protection.

 

Ferraro noted that their solution can successfully remove backup windows, provide granular recovery options that minimize data loss on recovery and support extremely fast and reliable recovery for both data and applications.

 

Hitachi Data Systems also hopes to provide their customers with even more options to protect their data and deliver operational efficiencies to their storage environments, according to Brian Householder, senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing and Business Development, Hitachi Data Systems.

 

He appreciates InMage’s ability to provide compelling recovery and availability benefits to midmarket customers challenged with business continuity problems in heterogeneous environments.

 

Hitachi Data Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, and the provider of Services Oriented Storage Solutions. The company made news last week for announcing new Data Protection and Disaster Recovery solutions for VMware vSphere 4.
