Newmium to Announce New Operating System for the Millennium

 

The new operating system named ‘iXRIOS’ from Newmium is a 32/64/128-bit hyper-scalable, dynamic operating system for high-end servers and workstations. The OS will have several new features that make it different from current operating systems used in high-end servers and workstations, according to officials.

 

Designed with Newmium's proprietary tools, the iXRIOS is a high-speed, multi-processor, multi-operative, real-time operating system based on the workstation-server model. An iXRIOS system can be used as a central server or workstation and works synergistically with Newmium's WEB, Email, File, and Database servers, officials said.

The iXRIOS also offers high-end data processing with complete security and portability.

 

It is capable of handling extremely high bandwidth, but does not compromise on security.

The software supports multiple security layers. Through sophisticated encryption techniques, it promises full security at each level of the processing scheme, guarding against system breaking, invasive hacking and viruses.

 

Newmium also offers a scaled-down version for mobile computing named iXRIOS-Soli. It is a scalable multi-operative embedded real-time operating system designed for consumer electronics (CE), embedded, personal digital assistant (PDA) and integrated BIOS computing markets which require rapid deployment and integration, small footprint, dynamic and redundant capabilities with extreme security, according to Newmium.

 

According to officials, the new OS is not a port, upgrade or rehash of old technology or software; rather, it’s all brand-new – a unique, high-speed, secure, dynamic operating system, complete with tool suites, designed for the new millennium.

The e iXRIOS system is provided with transparent load balancing features. It is completely dynamic, loading only required services and drivers, so the system is “lean-n-mean” -- no unnecessary services or devices to burden the system. Users can request remote execution of their operatives via automatic and transparent load balancing of operatives and processors.

 

The iXRIOS system supports various applications being developed by Newmium, as well as Newmium's existing applications and tools, including the CGX-Series, Dr-Series GT-Series and iXSeries. Support for third-party development utilizing Newmium's software development kits, tools and design suites will also be available.

 

The iXRIOS can be easily installed via a DVD, ISO Image or network connection.
