Global Capacity Scores $2.9 Million in Two New Contracts

Chicago-based Global Capacity – a telecommunications information and logistics company – this morning announced two new contracts worth $2.9 million.
 
The contracts, based on GC’s Strategic Sourcing product line, will be delivered via the company’s so-called “One Marketplace” network solution – a service that ultimately allows customers to rapidly respond to new requirements while improving efficiency and reducing the cost of their network infrastructure.”
 
Terms of each contract – from the number of circuits being managed to the carriers involved – vary.
 
“Global Capacity is able to work with all those carriers. So [the customers] only have to come to us,” Julie Dillenbeck, vice president of marketing, told TMC (News - Alert). “Understanding where every carrier’s network starts and stops is key to our business.”
 
Both contracts “highlight the requirement for and acceptance of Global Capacity’s solutions in the market,” said CEO Patrick Schutt. “One Marketplace combines the core assets of Global Capacity – our information, systems and expertise – to deliver innovative solutions to our customers at lower total costs, enabling them to meet their business objectives.”
 
Global Capacity is known for providing a fully integrated telecommunications supply chain management system that streamlines and accelerates the process of designing, pricing, optimizing, building and managing customized-communications networks.
 
Investing in telecom is a central issue for businesses that want to improve their networks, Greg Hough, Global Capacity’s chief technology officer, told TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert) in a one-on-one interview.
 
Hough, who is leading the paneled session “Maximize Your Investment with a Network Management Strategy” at ITEXPO West 2009 – to be held Sept. 1 to 3 in Los Angeles – said companies need to focus on can streamlining their processes to add efficiency and lower costs. “This is becoming more and more critical as new, bandwidth-hungry technologies put added pressure on IT departments and networks.”
