Wipro Technologies Enters into Five Year Agreement with BP

Wipro Technologies, a global IT business of Wipro Limited, has entered into a five year agreement with BP to provide IT applications development and maintenance services for BP’s fuels value chain and corporate businesses globally.

 

Over the last 12 months BP has undertaken a program to consolidate its IT ADAM vendors.

 

Wipro (News - Alert), which has been selected as a strategic partner after a rigorous selection procedure, would support BP in its agenda of IT standardization, simplification, and achieving corporate efficiency.

 

This agreement significantly expands the scope of partnership between Wipro and BP to additional business segments and newer geographies.

We look to benefit from Wipro’s knowledge of the oil and gas sector in maintaining our fuels value chain IT systems, as well as leveraging their expertise to deliver new IT solutions”, said Dana Deasy, BP Group CIO, in a statement.

 

Deasy said that this contract provides BP with a significant opportunity to simplify and streamline processes to drive the cost.

 

BP is one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, serving millions of customers every day in more than 100 countries across six continents.
