Oracle Invests In ComAbility as Part Of Joint Oracle Excellence Center/ Israeli Office Of The Chief Scientist Initiative

As part of a joint agreement between the Oracle (News - Alert) Excellence Center for Startups, ISVs, OEMS and the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist “OCS”, Oracle has invested in the Israeli startup ComAbility.

According to Ziv Omer, manager of Oracle Excellence Center for Startups, ISVs and OEMs, they see potential for developing an Oracle-based session repository founded on Oracle's database solution.

This session repository will serve as a central repository within the service provider network. It will provide critical capabilities like high availability, DRP, connectivity, operations and troubleshooting. The solution from ComAbility was selected to strengthen identify management in service providers networks to be more efficient, reliable and adaptable to advanced service providers needs for frequent customization and for support of a range of services.

The joint project will co-develop a distributed data session repository, for which ComAbility's patent-pending neXus architecture will be used over the Oracle database.

The repository will be the central location for subscriber identify management on service providers networks. This in turn enables an extended, distributed and reliable approach to managing subscriber identities in the network. The persistent RADIUS server session repository will also enable service providers to support a large number of users and transactions daily, streamlining management, troubleshooting user issues and enforcing centralized admission control.

According to Alon Fishman, CEO, ComAbility, the joint solution will transform Oracle's database into an integral part of real-time network transactions. The solution also demonstrates that service providers can handle a large number of mission-critical transactions per day. Fishman also added that ComAbility is planning to take this relationship forward in the future as Oracle makes significant inroads into identify management for the telecom, provisioning and OSS markets.

The joint Oracle Excellence Center/OCS initiative supports Israeli startups and OEMs/ISVs. Oracle provides access to its extensive technological expertise and scientific infrastructure and research; offers preferential terms for purchasing and distributing Oracle infrastructures and also links up Israeli companies to Oracle representatives and other major companies throughout the world.

ComAbility enables next-generation service providers to use a unified platform to manage their subscriber and service operations securely. The flagship product of ComAbility, neXus, enables service providers to realize the full potential from their network by delivering a subscriber-centric, end-to-end solution to subscribers and services management across all access technologies.
