Fluke Networks Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire AirMagnet

Fluke Networks, a provider of solutions for the installation and certification, testing, monitoring and analysis of copper, fiber and wireless networks for enterprises and telecommunications carriers, has reportedly signed a definitive agreement to acquire AirMagnet, a provider of performance, security and compliance solutions for wireless LANs.
 
The agreement is subject to customary closing conditions and reportedly, the deal is likely to conclude shortly within next few weeks.
 
This acquisition is said to further strengthen their expertise and allow them to create comprehensive portfolio of test and analysis solutions for wired and wireless networks and eventually ensure their network infrastructures are secure, compliant and performing optimally. Terms of the agreement are yet to be disclosed.
 
"Together, we expect that the solutions from Fluke Networks (News - Alert) and AirMagnet will provide the end-to-end network visibility network engineers need and the actionable information required to deploy, secure, manage, analyze and troubleshoot their networks, independent of media type," said David Coffin, president of Fluke Networks in a statement. "AirMagnet's (News - Alert) products are a fit with Fluke Networks' philosophy of delivering Network SuperVision - giving users superior visibility and insight into networking technology they can't get anywhere else."
 
Based in Sunnyvale, Calif., AirMagnet has been offering products that allow enterprise IT organizations to ensure the availability, performance, security and compliance of wireless LAN infrastructure. The company's products include AirMagnet Enterprise, the round-the-clock WLAN security and performance management solution; AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer, a widely adopted Wi-Fi troubleshooting tool, as well as AirMagnet Survey, AirMagnet Spectrum (News - Alert) Analyzer, AirMagnet Planner and AirMedic.

Headquartered in Everett, Washington, Fluke Networks distributes its products in more than 50 countries.
