Hostway Corp. Introduces Advanced Server Plans

Hostway Corporation, a Chicago-based enterprise class hosting solutions provider, has reportedly introduced a new line of advanced server plans, powered by Intel’s (News - Alert) next generation processor technology, the Intel Xeon processor 5500 series.

The advanced micro-architecture of Intel Xeon processor 5500 series equips the hosted servers with ground-breaking virtualization performance and enterprise class features. The processors offer performance up to 2.25X higher than that offered by the previous-generation while maintaining similar power consumption. Also by doubling the virtualization performance, the Xeon 5500 series allows more virtual machines per physical server.

The new line includes a host of new server plans based on the Dell PowerEdge platform, including the Quad Core Intel Xeon processor 5500 series, SATA or SAS (News - Alert) hard drives with hardware raid. The plans start at $349 per month.

“Hostway is excited to hit the market with these new hosted servers,” said Todd Benjamin, director of enterprise hosting, in a statement. “The new technology will enable our customers to better support the applications that they need to stay competitive, at a cost point not far off from the previous generation.”

The new line of Hostway server plans comes with Intelligent Performance that tailors performance to suit business and application requirements.  Another feature is the ‘automated energy efficiency’ that scales energy usage to the workload.  Other remarkable features include ‘flexible virtualization’ and ‘optimized memory’.

“We are excited that Hostway will be deploying high performance servers that take advantage of the Intel Xeon 5500 Series processors,” said Jason Waxman, general manager, high density computing division, at Intel in a statement. “This state-of-the art server technology will enable Hostway’s customers with best in class performance and manageability, to improve IT infrastructure and reduce costs.”

As a limited offer, Hostway will provide twice the bandwidth and free set-up on all dedicated server plans based on Intel Xeon processor 5500 series.

Hostway Corp. specializes in a gamut of services including domain name registration, Web hosting and ecommerce, colocation, managed dedicated hosting, SaaS (News - Alert) hosting, Web design and online marketing services. It boasts a customer base of over 2 million businesses globally. Earlier this month, TMCnet had reported that Hostway has joined the Microsoft (News - Alert) BizSpark program as a Network Partner.
