Yoggie Management Server Now Available as VMware-Based Virtual Appliance

Yoggie Security Systems, a provider of personal security computer services, recently announced that its Yoggie Management Server (YMS) is no longer available in hardware-based version, and the software version of the management tool can now be downloaded as a VMware-based virtual appliance from www.yoggie.com.

Yoggie Management Server (YMS) is an appliance/management tool used by companies to manage their fleets of miniature security computers.

Yoggie Security Systems said that its YMS facilitates enterprises to enforce security policies and monitor cyber threats by managing the Yoggie Gatekeeper Internet security devices used by employees.

According to Yoggie, its YMS was the first hardware-based personal security computer solution. The YMS is a custom-built tool of the size of an USB device for enterprises with centralized management, policy enforcement, automatic updates to mobile Gatekeeper users and real-time web-based monitoring of users.

The YMS is ideal for enterprises that are serious and have consistent approach to protecting their data. The tool offers enterprises with real-time oversight and the means to ensure staff adhere to correct policies. In addition it also simplifies the aspect of security for employees.

Yoggie offers a range of USB key-sized and ExpressCard-sized security mini-computers, so called Gatekeeper Pico and Gatekeeper Card, which can connect to any PC or laptop at home, in the office and on the road, thereby blocking Internet threats even outside the host computer. In addition, it also enhances computer performance by off-loading installed security software. These miniaturized computers can run a suite of 14 security applications, says company.

The transformation from hardware into a VMware-based virtual appliance will help Yoggie enterprise customers to enjoy key benefits, such as increased levels of scalability along with easier and faster deployment, maintenance, load balancing and backup/restore functionality.

The old and the present customers of YMS can continue using the existing hardware, rather than purchasing dedicated hardware. This will help customers to save on capital costs, says company.

Shlomo Touboul, founder and CEO of Yoggie Security Systems, said, "The mobility trend within the modern-day workforce continues to move forwards and with it, the security challenge for corporate IT managers is still increasing. Combined with Yoggie Gatekeeper devices, the YMS puts control firmly back in the hands of the IT department at the same time that it delivers a rock solid first line of defense. By moving the YMS to a VMware-based virtual appliance, we are making it easier than ever for companies to deploy the security management tools they need to protect corporate assets."
