InfoStructures Acquires FilterPoint SPAM Filtering Service by KCI

InfoStructures, a technology solution provider to federal and commercial clients, has acquired Khera Communications' FilterPoint – an e-mail spam filtering service.

Under the terms of the acquisition, FilterPoint will become part of InfoStructures' managed services offerings for its client base. The service was renamed as ‘InfoStructures FilterPoint’ services.

The FilterPoint managed service offers email and content filtering solutions for organizations of all sizes. It removes threats from user’ email traffic at the network perimeter before it can pass through the enterprise firewall and compromises users and network.

Raj Khera, Vivek Khera and other investors from Khera Communications (KCI) first started the FilterPoint service.

InfoStructures FilterPoint service does not require any hardware or software integration or operating system licenses for hardware platforms or managing of security patches or updates, thereby reducing the cost of installation and maintenance for a company. In addition, the service considerably reduces storage and bandwidth costs as well as enhances productivity of employees and IT administrators.

InfoStructures said that it would be integrating additional capabilities in to the FilterPoint service, such as disaster recovery and email archiving services, in order to enhance the service.

InfoStructures offers enterprise integration, support, software development and other IT consulting services to federal clients such as the Department of Defense and Smithsonian Institution. The company also offers its solutions and services to commercial clients in the filed of health care, finance/banking, construction, and general corporate concerns.

"InfoStructures' solutions integrate best-of-breed vendors and technologies together to improve client workplaces and enhance client experience. We plan to build on FilterPoint's success and enhance our ability to offer clients a multitude of managed services, said Guy Wassertzug, CEO of InfoStructures. "This acquisition builds on our core strength of providing cost-effective, scalable, and manageable solutions to our growing client base."

KCI’s MailerMailer is a permission-based e-mail newsletter service that performs intensive usability testing as part of its product development process, while DiscussThis is a discussion group service provider. MoreBusiness.com and BizThreads.net. are small business resource centers, said the company.

Raj Khera, also CEO of MailerMailer, said, "MailerMailer's rigorous customer screening process will continue to incorporate some of FilterPoint's technology to ensure that only legitimate senders use our email newsletter service."
