Rogers Unveils HP Mini 110 Netbooks in Canada

Rogers Wireless has unveiled mobile Internet ready netbooks in Canada. The company has announced that HP Mini 110 netbooks are now available with its embedded mobile broadband technology.

 

A 3.5G network allows networks to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. With the introduction of Rogers 3.5G Network, the company claims that its mobile network is the fastest in Canada. The company has now increased its network download speed from 3.6 Mbps to up to 7.2 Mbps from coast to coast.

 

Rogers’ 3.5G wireless network is now embedded in the HP Mini 110 netbooks, allowing customers to choose when and where they enjoy a true broadband Internet experience. The HP Mini 110 is available for $299.99, exclusively at Future Shop and Best Buy stores across Canada with a two year plan.

HP Mini 110 Series PC provides features such as a 10.1-inch display and a keyboard that is 92 per cent the size of a standard notebook PC, the HP Mini 110 starts at 2.57 pounds. HP Mini 110 is powered by an Intel (News - Alert) Atom Processor and it supports up to 1 GB of memory and comes equipped with a 160 GB hard drive.

 

Reaching more than 75 per cent of Canada’s population, the Rogers 3.5G HSPA network is now available in more than 25 of Canada's top markets from Victoria to Halifax.

 

In December last year, the company unveiled the national availability of its 3.5G next generation network in Canada. Rogers is the first North American wireless carrier to offer customers peak downloads of 7.2Mbps on a national network, according to the company. This has allowed Canadians to experience even faster broadband download speeds on their cellphones, smartphones and laptops.
