OASYS' Solutions to Integrate with Network Critical's SmartNA

Open Access Systems Corporation (OASYS) reportedly announced that it will be integrating Network Critical Solution Limited’s Smart Network Access System into its own select set of products to offer the global market a collaborated ‘Best Price Performance Solutions.’

“Packet loss is not an option in monitoring enterprise networks and the network critical family of solutions provides the flexible lower cost mechanism to control what type and how much network traffic is sent to monitoring tools,” said Chris Johnson, president of OASYS and an industry expert on network analytics, in a statement. “The SmartNA System has a complete set of features and excels at packet slicing, time stamping, statistics output, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) alerting and the lowest cost per port making the SmartNA System a great fit for our ‘Best Price Performance Solutions.’”

Driving the requirement for such integrated solutions is the heightened demand for a potpourri of interlinked Internet, broadband, and Wi-B technologies that has gone beyond the exponential because consumers, service providers and companies want simultaneous high definition video streaming, Unified Communications (News - Alert), Web 2.0 social networks, Infrastructural virtualization, Web based Software as a Solution applications, Network Operations Center offloading, remote backup and super quick environments for cloud computing.

OASYS said that because of these increasing demands, IP multimedia subset and enterprise converging networks require intelligent TAPs. While the letters ‘TAPS’ in network terminology is generally understood to be similar in meaning to phone taps, for Network Critical equipments, however, its official sources declare that ‘TAPS’ is a representation for Traffic Access Points.

Officials at the company said that the new offerings will be low cost switch systems, which will support the aggregation and filtering of traffic sent to one or many network monitoring tools, enabling tools to keep up with highly utilized 1 Giga bit per second and 10 Gbps Ethernet segments.

Growing performance monitoring and interoperability signalling issues in Multiple Systems Operators (MSO) and Service Providers’ central offices, along with the increased IP Multimedia Subset demands visibility into IP packets to meet crucial SLA’s surrounding security, voice, 911 recorders, video, and communications assistance for the Law Enforcement Act lawful intercept for wire tapping or electronic surveillance.

Both Bihary and Johnson have acknowledged the need for this joint effort to integrate certain aspects of each company’s portfolio and such collaborative efforts are in keeping with one of the seven mantras of the time, which dictates that organizations must make serious efforts to reach out and work with each other.
