CoreSite Expands Chicago Data Center

After announcing its new name last week, CoreSite (formerly CRG (News - Alert) West) has prepared around 20,000 square feet of new space at their downtown Chicago data center.

Located in the heart of the financial district, the SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II certified new expanded centre will address the increasing demand for data center space in downtown Chicago. Serving more than thirty customers, the center offers access to some of Chicago’s major financial exchanges.

The new space is move-in ready for companies of all sizes, has 2N emergency generator back-up power and an N+1 cooling and UPS configuration. The facility includes a return-air plenum, which allows for hot aisle containment to maximize energy efficiency.

CoreSite’s Chicago data center includes security features such as mantraps, biometric readers, and 24-hour on-site security. The branch-circuit monitoring technology in the center allows customers to view their power consumption. In addition, this technology provides more reliability and enables CoreSite to deliver its usage-based power pricing model.

CoreSite is proud of its ability to build out a data center space that has strong, redundant reliable infrastructure to provide a reliable, well-connected home for their customers’ mission-critical ICT systems, said Billie Haggard, vice president of Data Centers for CoreSite, in a statement.

The company aims to design, build and manage their data centers with their customers’ success in mind. It is focused on providing customers with an environment that promotes and accommodates their future growth, Haggard added.

CoreSite is a developer, manager and operator of data centers. As reported by TMCnet, the company recently completed SAS 70 Type II certification at the company’s Boston and Chicago data centers.

The certification in Boston and Chicago has made the outsourced data center selection process more efficient for prospective customers from all industries.
