X-ES Starts Unveils Low-Power CompactPCI Single-Board Computer

Extreme Engineering Solutions, a provider of single-board computer and I/O products within the embedded computer industry, recently announced that it has started shipping its new 3U CompactPCI (News - Alert) single-board computer, XPedite7130.
 
In general, single-board computers are complete computers built on a single circuit board.
Based on Intel (News - Alert) Core 2 Duo processor, new XPedite7130 houses a PMC/XMC site with Ethernet and the traditional PCI bus or PCI Express support, making it ideal for ideal for high-bandwidth data-processing applications, storage or additional I/O.
 
X-ES (News - Alert) said that a complete range of convection- or conduction-cooled configurations of XPedite7130 are available, which can be leveraged by the widest range of telecommunications to military applications.
 
XPedite7130 is provided with up to 4 GB of DDR2-400 ECC SDRAM memory. 2 MB firmware hub flash and 4GB of NAND flash are also included. A J2 connector I/O is also provided that includes: GPIO, 2 SATA ports, 2 USB ports, PMC/XMC I/O, and 2 RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial ports.
 
Featuring in-house X-ES operating system, the XPedite7130 single board computer supports Green Hills INTEGRITY board support package, Wind River (News - Alert) VxWorks BSP, QNX Neutrino BSP, Linux LSP, and Windows drivers.
 
Available at a starting price of $4,995, XPedite7130 is shipped in three configurations – commercial, industrial and military.
 
Bret Farnum, vice president of sales at X-ES, said, “XPedite7130 supports system slot or peripheral slot usage, providing X-ES customers flexibility and sparing cost-savings. Intel’s Core2 Duo processor expands our 3U CompactPCI product line and continues our commitment to low-power/high-performance products in multiple form factors.”
 
Recently, X-ES also unveiled a 3U power supply card called XPm2000 that provides up to 200W on 3.3V, 5V and 12V at 90 percent along with EMI filtering. In addition, the company also unveiled a conduction- or air-cooled XMC/PMC solution called XPort4100, which features AMD (News - Alert) Radeon E2400 graphics processor supporting two independent displays.
