Softtek Launches New Application Security Services

Softtek, a global provider of IT and business process solutions and one of the largest private IT service providers in Latin America, has launched new application security services, called “ARMOR” – Application Risk Management, Ongoing Reassurance at the Gartner Information Security Summit in Washington, D.C.

Softtek officials while giving this information said that ARMOR is a holistic program that detects, corrects and prevents security defects throughout the application lifecycle and delivers a comprehensive, metrics-driven and cost-competitive solution, enabled by its Global Nearshore model.

Officials said that unlike most tools and services focused on detecting vulnerabilities in pre-production or production stages, ARMOR is designed to find defects earlier in the process and fix the root causes of the problem. With 26 years of software quality expertise, Softtek has conducted over 2,000 security assessments on enterprise applications for global corporations, such as General Electric (GE).

“Protecting online applications from hacking attempts, while remaining compliant with increasing rules and regulations, is the prime concern for any business today, and failing to do so could lead to financial loss, legal complications and reputation damage,” said Blanca Treviño, president and CEO of Softtek, in a statement.

Treviño said that the company offers mature and proven services that help corporations align their data protection and application security efforts with their business risk management strategies.

Softtek’s proven approach combines Six Sigma process rigor and ever-evolving policies & standards with mature knowledge management and training.

Softtek initially will offer the services to companies in various industries, with special emphasis on financial services, healthcare, and online retail industries where the importance of application security has been growing rapidly in the past years.

Brad Maiorino, GE Corporate CISO said that Softtek has consistently delivered best-in-class, cost-effective application security services, helping GE to address the root causes of application security vulnerabilities.

Softtek has provided application security services to GE since 2004.
