Server Technology Releases CW-24V Mixed-Outlet Cabinet Power Distribution Unit

Server Technology (News - Alert) has announced the availability of the CW-24V mixed-outlet Cabinet Power Distribution Unit (CDU) for overhead power and busways.

Reno, Nevada-based Server Technology designs and manufactures intelligent power distribution products for enterprise data centers, service providers and branch office locations.

The latest offering consists of (18) IEC (News - Alert) C13 outlets, (6) IEC C19 outlets, and (1) NEMA 5-20R 110V outlet. Also, this Switched CDU has middle entry for network, serial, and environmental connections in addition to a top power cord entry. Company officials said that this situates the ports and LED current monitors halfway up the 69in (1753mm) vertical tower.

The CDU connects to overhead power or busways, like the Starline Track Busway. In addition, it’s also accommodating if the power is delivered through the floor.

The local current monitor is positioned on the center of the CDU, which, officials said, can be inverted through the Web GUI or serial interface to provide True RMS current monitoring for onsite verification of the current draw (in Amps) on each power circuit regardless of which way the CDU is installed in the rack.

A 3-Phase model providing high power distribution, it can deliver 208-240V at 30-Amps and in addition to the original 24 outlets on the CDU, an expansion CDU can be linked to the master.

Moreover, officials said that in one IP address both the master and expansion can be controlled.

For branch circuit protection, this product also uses fuses. Officials said that the tool-less fuse retractors enable access for the replacement of fuses and it meets the UL 60950-1 requirement for branch circuit protection.

Earlier this month, the company announced the integration of the Sentry Cabinet Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Switched product family and the Minicom (News - Alert) remote access management solution - AccessIT.
