Tripp Lite Unveils New 2U SmartOnline UPS System

Power and connectivity solutions provider Tripp Lite recently unveiled its new 3000VA/2U SmartOnline rack/tower UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system, SU3000RTXL2U, which is an ideal power protection solution for IT applications where space is a constraint.

Offering 3000VA / 3 kVA / 2500 watt capacity in a 2U rackspace, Tripp Lite’s (News - Alert) new UPS system features true on-line double-conversion operation with pure sine wave output and zero transfer time between AC and battery operation in online mode. This helps in isolating connected equipment from power problems. It can maintain selectable 100/110/115/120/127V +/-2 percent output during brownouts and over voltage from 70 to 144V (50/60 Hz auto-sensing).

Apart from providing protection from power problems, Tripp Lite’s new UPS system enables power network monitoring and control as well via built-in USB and DB9 communication ports, SNMP slot, and PowerAlert monitoring software. The built-in DB9 port offers both enhanced RS-232 enabled monitoring data, plus contact closure monitoring ability. The USB interface is HID-complaint and enables integration with built-in power management and auto shutdown features of Windows and Mac OS X, says company.

Tripp Lite’s new USB system features optional 97 percent-efficient economy mode operation. This facilitates in reducing power consumption as well as BTU emissions. Reduced BTU emissions promote cooler operation.

Featuring emergency power off (EPO) interface, the new SmartOnline UPS System supports simultaneous detailed monitoring of equipment load levels, self-test data and mains power conditions via all network interfaces – all at once. The system has integrated two bank PDU switching that supports automated load shedding and remote-reboot of connected equipment.

In addition to supporting data centers, VoIP systems and other mission-critical equipments through all power problems, Tripp Lite’s new USB system has expandable runtime with optional external battery packs that can support the most critical loads plus other key features such as audible alarm, self-test, and fault-tolerant auto-bypass mode, says company.

David Slotten, director of product management, Tripp Lite, said, "Systems growth inevitably places demands on rackspace, requiring solutions that conserve space. The SU3000RTXL2U UPS System delivers perfect power and reduced space requirements without sacrificing performance. And with scheduled, automatic or on-demand economy mode added to its low initial cost, the system's total cost of ownership is further enhanced."

Apart from providing UPS systems, Tripp Lite also offers rack systems, PDUs, PowerAlert software for enterprise-level system management and control, surge suppressors, KVM switches, cables and connectivity products, inverters, power strips, notebook accessories and more.
