Huawei Technologies Selects Mindspeed's Retiming Crosspoint Switch

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., a major player that provides next generation telecommunications network solutions, has selected Mindspeed's M21156 retiming crosspoint switch for use within its transport product line.

 

“Huawei (News - Alert) has achieved superior performance in our transport platforms based on Mindspeed's crosspoint technology," said Christian Chua, president of transport product line at Huawei, in a statement.

 

Kurt Busch, Mindspeed's senior vice president and general manager, high-performance analog said that Mindspeed's M21156 retiming crosspoint switch and Huawei's networking systems offer the industry unprecedented levels of performance, integration and cost effectiveness.

 

"We are very proud to be supporting a forward-looking company such as Huawei and to have been included in several of its designs," said Busch.

 

Mindspeed officials said that the M21156 low-power, high-speed, 144x144 retiming crosspoint switch minimizes jitter using a combination of advanced equalization and retiming circuits enabling the development of multi-gigabit channels across the most demanding backplanes.

 

Officials said that the M21156 supports data rates from 1.0 Gbps to 3.2 Gbps and is currently in full production.

 

Crosspoint switches provide the key signal integrity and interconnect technology that solves the issues posed by high-speed networking. Demand for crosspoint switches is growing due to the increasing need for high-bandwidth applications in the enterprise, metro and core.

Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. in May announced that Easytelecom, a producer of advanced monitoring systems for signaling system 7 (SS7) has chosen Mindspeed's high-level data link control (HDLC) multi-channel synchronous communications controller (MUSYCC) devices for its flagship SuperSS7 equipment.
