Credera to Makover The Container Store's eCommerce Platform

Credera has announced it has been selected by The Container Store to re-platform its Web space, and it will achieve this by working with Broadleaf Commerce to implement and customize Broadleaf’s enterprise open source code eCommerce application, which is also known by the same name - Broadleaf Commerce.

“We were looking for a partner that would provide a flexible yet strong process, proven experience, and that would collaborate well with our team and culture,” said Tom Birmingham, chief information officer for The Container Store, in a statement.

The Container Store primarily deals in unique packing, storage, fitting, container, organizing and packaging products and solutions that help people save time and space. The company describes its current Web space as, ‘The Container Store - The Neatest Site on the Web!’

“At Credera, we are committed to offering the right solution to our clients’ specific needs, and in the case of The Container Store, it was clear that an open source solution was the best fit,” said Rob Borrego, president and chief executive officer of Credera, in a statement.

Credera is a full-service business and technology consulting firm that works with Fortune 1,000 companies, medium-sized businesses, government organizations and clients across a broad range of industries. The company says its background easily match up to The Container Store’s expectations.

“This is a great opportunity for us to help a leading, well-known brand and top-notch company to grow its business by providing a flexible, scalable eCommerce platform,” Borrego said.

Broadleaf Commerce initiated its own eCommerce open source code development in 2008, and now offers a stable, secure, flexible and expandable solution built on SpringSource, a development open source code framework for enterprise Java applications.

The popularity of open source code enabled applications may be gauged by the fact, TMCnet had earlier reported, that even the military is strongly considering OSS adoption as a money saving option when compared with current costly proprietary OSS.
