XO Communications, provider of advanced communications services and solutions for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers, has
announced a new flexibility program for current and prospective customers using XO Wavelength.
Officials at XO said that, the new XO Carrier Wavelength FLEX is a service that utilizes company’s dense wavelength division multiplex (DWDM) technology to provide network capacity. It offers a fully managed, economical solution for point-to-point connectivity needs, with increased network capacity to support Internet, video and multimedia streaming.
Customers just have to pay a flat, one-time fee to start using this new service, and can use their existing network to help them to respond to evolving business demands while avoiding costly early termination fees and new service initiation contracts.
This new service helps XO’s customers to switch from one route to another and also make route changes within metro markets. It also enables them to change the technology of their circuits and add drop sites to the existing routes.
XO Carrier Services President Ernie Ortega said that, their customers are under tremendous pressure to continually evaluate and adjust their assets and offerings as the demand for high-capacity bandwidth increases exponentially.
Ortega added that, “By offering a pre-planned, pre-approved reconfiguration option, XO hopes to remove the stress that comes from trying to balance end-user needs with business financials. Doing so will not only benefit our customers, but allow us to grow with them as their needs change over time."
The Wavelength FLEX feature applies to all connections across XO's high-capacity nationwide and metro networks and fee covers adjustments to either portions of networks or entire networks. This will help XO customers to cater the demands of their customer base and also to maintain a low cost per megabit.
XO customer list includes more than half of the Fortune 500, in addition to leading cable companies, carriers, content providers and mobile network operators.
