According to the company, the new SupportSoft Download Manager is helpful to digital and managed service providers who are looking for additional revenue and expand their customer base.
Specifically, its proactive delivery and support platform helps providers distribute their latest software service in a personalized fashion, and also to activate and manage the new service to suit the customer's needs.
Michael Sayer, GM & EVP of the Enterprise Solutions Group at SupportSoft said that,

Yet, the biggest obstacle to these value-added offerings being successful is service delivery itself. He further said that, the new download agent brings providers and their customer’s considerable benefits by making it simple and convenient to set up and proactively manage VAS offerings on demand. This eliminates the need to invest significant resources and reduces support costs that tend to be associated with launching new services.
In addition, this new solution helps service providers to optimize download performance and simplify software downloads, thus enabling them to make additional offers and generate new revenue. Providers can even assess end-user download behaviour to determine when an upgrade or additional capability is appropriate. They can continuously deliver tools and applications, says the company.

Recent releases include Performance Manager, its newest proactive support and "do-it-yourself" tool that automates and simplifies routine computer maintenance. It effectively scans a user's system looking for ways to improve maintenance, policy, performance, and security functions. It examines the operating system, memory and disk space, software, programs and settings, and enhances them when appropriate.
