Alert) SyncMaster LapFit LD190G and LD220G USB companion monitors are already fitted with their new products.
The newly released processors the DL-125, DL-165 and DL-195 are now more enhanced to offer user the capability to connect additional monitors using USB-connected docking stations, monitors, mini-monitors, projectors and adapters. The resolutions they can support have increased with the DL-125, DL-165 and DL-195 graphics processors now sporting up to 1440×1050, 1920×1080 and 2048×1152, respectively. Their new software and hardware advances increase the overall performance allowing for smoother video playback and interactivity.
DisplayLink Corp is a chip and software company that modernizes the antiquated way people connect computers and displays – via USB, Ethernet, or over other standard digital networks.
DisplayLink technology works by utilizing a single USB 2.0 (or higher) connector to drive up to six monitors, each daisy chained one to another. The communication can facilitate over any form, including through hubs, routers and wireless USB.
According to DisplayLink, their USB-powered graphics processors do not require graphics cards, but they power monitors directly over USB connection through software which is auto-downloaded from DisplayLink monitors.
The company claims that their USB graphics technology have been steadily adopted into a lot of devices and it will only increase as more solutions ranging from application specific monitors to wireless adapters and docking stations opt to leverage their technology.
"DisplayLink's new chips bring all of the best features from our past award-winning products, while adding capabilities that make USB graphics connectivity even more compelling," said Dennis Crespo, executive vice president of marketing and business development for DisplayLink. "Now even more applications will experience smooth video playback and stunning high resolution graphics display on even larger monitors."
The new series of chips have Hi-Speed USB 2.0 compliant device input and can support multiple outputs like DVI (TMDS), analog (DSUB15), as well as LVDS for direct connection to a LCD panel and 12/24-bit RGB (TTL) for connectivity to external DisplayPort or HDMI devices. All the video outputs are capable of 32 bit true color with higher graphics quality and support full-screen HD video playback.
DisplayLink has
demonstrated its market success by selling over one million USB Graphics chips and is also
planning to make all its apps to be fully compatible to the soon to be released Windows 7.
