Corsair Sets Record for DDR3 Frequency

Corsair Labs has claimed that it has broken records for DDR3 frequency with its Dominator GT DDR3 Memory clock operating at 2533 MHz. That speed was achieved with the aggressive memory timings of 7-8-7-20 using a triple-channel 6GB memory kit and the record frequency has been verified by CPU-Z, the industry-standard tool for verifying over-clocking results, company officials say.

The company deals in high-performance components for personal computers.

Officials at Corsair say that Dominator GT is limited to high memory speeds and it only uses high highly screened ICs to guarantee performance and over-clock ability. To achieve this world record speed on a Core i7 system the company had used 6GB of Dominator GT 2000C7 memory with eVGA’s X58 3X SLI Classified motherboard.

“When it comes to overclocking and memory, Corsair has proven once again that its engineering team truly is the best,” said Kevin Conley, vice president of engineering for Corsair. “As the new world record shows, Corsair’s modules are second-to-none in terms of performance, stability and quality.”

Corsair says that to build the Dominator GT, its engineering team runs extensive and exhaustive in-house testing and qualification with the premium performance motherboards used by overclockers and ultra enthusiasts. The company claims that this unique combination of over-clocking performance testing and guaranteed reliability and compatibility coupled with a limited lifetime warranty, make the Dominator GT the ultimate solution for the ultra enthusiast and overclocker.

Officials at Corsair Labs say they used eVGA X58 classified motherboard, Corsair HX1000W power supply and the new Corsair storage solution P256 SSD to build a system designed for maximum performance and with it broke the world record.

Joe Darwin, Director of Technical Marketing at eVGA, said that eVGA is thrilled to see Corsair set a new world record in DDR3 memory using its motherboard. Corsair’s success only denotes their achievement of making the best overclocking motherboard on the planet for Intel (News - Alert) Core i7 processors. When paired with Corsair’s ultra-high performance Dominator GT memory their product not just met the company’s goal but blew it away.

Corsair said that the Dominator GT TR3X6G2000C7GTF with Airflow fan is available immediately from Corsair’s Online Performance Shop. Other Dominator and Dominator GT kits are available from authorized resellers and retailers worldwide. All Corsair Dominator memory is backed by a lifetime warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.

The company recently has also released the portable 64 GB USB Flash drive and rolled out a 256GB high-performance solid-state drive.
