Callpod, a firm that specializes in power products, wireless headsets, mobile conferencing systems and mobile software applications for professionals, has reportedly launched its first software application for desktop and laptop computers, Keeper Desktop.
The launch of Keeper Desktop is said to mark its official entry into the software arena which complements its mobile electronics products including the original Chargepod, a multi-device charger, and the Fueltank, a mobile on-the-go charger and so on.
"Today, consumers need to do everything they can to keep important information as safe as possible," said Craig Lurey, chief technology officer and co-founder at Callpod. Lurey clarified that Keeper uses one of the most powerful encryption tools which would make the users feel confident that their information is safe against thieves and hackers.
"Callpod's entry into the software space is the perfect complement to our mobile devices business and allows us to offer consumers useful and innovative applications for their Smartphones and computers. Smartphones have become the fastest growing segment in addition to power devices in the consumer electronics space," said Lurey.
Lurey also mentioned that Callpod is planning to launch a list of new and innovative apps later this year.
Last month, Callpod officially introduced Keeper Mobile data encryption for Smartphones.
Keeper is said to allow users to quickly and easily store all sensitive data including passwords, account numbers, website logins, notes, lists and other business or personal information on their laptop or desktop computer. Its user-friendly interface allows users to fully search, index and protect information with military-grade encryption.
Moreover, according to the company, Keeper Desktop can securely and wirelessly sync the sensitive encrypted data with the user's mobile device over a Wi-Fi network. If the user's computer is lost or stolen, the sensitive information stored in Keeper is protected with military-grade encryption and remains secure. As a feature, "self-destruct" mode will erase all data after five incorrect attempts to break into the database. In addition, this feature allows the user to retrieve and restore an encrypted version of their data.
Identity theft is a growing problem today and once vital information is stolen and compromised it could take years to regain one's identity. Keeper, a first line of defense, is a viable and powerful solution to combat identity theft and keeps data safe at all times, says the company.
Reportedly, the company has announced a 15-day free trial of Keeper Desktop for the Mac and PC or users can also purchase the full version at just $14.95.
