ICAN Claims it Has 'Cracked the Code' on Monetizing Social Networks

A New Mexico group of entrepreneurs claims to have ‘cracked the code’ on monetizing social networking sites for both hosts and users by launching its own social networking site, ICAN.

ICAN, the first social networking site that freely permits users to log on and engage in “human commerce,” has introduced average users of social networking sites to new possibilities in e-commerce.

ICAN is the brainchild of a group of New Mexico internet entrepreneurs. Initially conceived to facilitate construction projects online, the site soon found itself gaining large scale acceptance in industries across verticals. ICAN forecasts that in the future social networking sites will be the best way to do business and are, at present, trying to extend the concept to a wide variety of industries, from auto to manufacturing to retail to construction to banking.

ICAN seeks to redefine the way business will be done in the future. Worksites are under construction while the company has filed for several patents with authorities.

ICAN is based on the idea of a group of interdependent professionals working with each other to make use of their marketable skills. ICAN believes that in order to generate revenue, all you need is a group of professionals willing to work with each other, challenging the modern day norm of doing business for which employer/employee/client based relationship is a pre-requisite.

The ICAN network, which was launched in New Mexico in March 2007, is now a coast-coast, multi-state network.
