AdvancedIO Systems Inc. announced the availability of expressXG, a FPGA framework which helps customers
tackle complex system communication problems rapidly. The company provides high-bandwidth connectivity solutions required for decision-critical applications.
The expressXG framework enables rapid high-bandwidth application development. The application implementation is further simplified by abstraction of Ethernet protocols and interfaces.
It also offers customers a tool to embed their own applications into AdvancedIO’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces directly. The company’s experience with implementing Ethernet communications for demanding real-time systems enhances the line-rate performance of FPGAs.
“We see increasing demand for 10GbE interfaces that can address unique customer connectivity problems,” said Rob Kraft, VP Marketing at AdvancedIO Systems. “ExpressXG is ideal for designers who need to deploy their own algorithms quickly and provides us the scalability to service growing customer demand.”
ExpressXG is essentially a framework of FPGA firmware and host software which abstracts the details of Ethernet protocols and interfaces like 10GbE controllers, memory controllers and host fabric interfaces. This reduces the time taken and the development efforts of designers in implementing custom algorithms, said the company.
Future code portability is hastened by eliminating hardware dependencies. AdvancedIO’s 10GbE products have the unique capability to meet line-rate processing requirements. Customers can now combine their proprietary or classified algorithms into the data flow for solving complex system problems.
ExpressXG which is now available for shipping offers customers a “sand box region” which enables them to include their own applications leveraging AdvancedIO’s 10 GbE implementation techniques and patent-pending technology.
AdvancedIO Systems provides high-bandwidth connectivity solutions. The company’s solutions help maintain the integrity of complex telecommunications infrastructure. In a war zone a soldier’s safety depends wholly on monitoring and detection and his action depends on the communication system’s ability to react in real time.
Large enterprises use AdvancedIO’s solutions which optimize their systems with a flexible, customer-focused and programmable connectivity solution.
