AdaptivCool Offers Trial Period for Data Center Hot Spot Elimination System

AdaptivCool, the thermal management division of degree Controls, Inc, has announced a free thirty-day trial for its HotSpotr, a system that eliminates data center hot spots.

The trial offer starts immediately and is for HotSpotr HT-500, which can prevent hot spots in one to three racks in the data center.

HotSpotr supplies cold air to hot racks in a data center and then exhausts the hot air directly back to the CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioners) for the heating load. In this manner, HotSpotr eliminates hot spots and prevents equipment failure caused by overheating. This  increases computer uptime and also reduces the number of CRACs required.

AdaptivCool Room Scale Intelligent (RSIC) is AdaptivCool’s flagship technology. It uses temperature sensors to send information to a sophisticated Cooling Resource Manager which can calculate minute-by-minute cooling demand. Based on this it controls, data center air flows dynamically through floor- and ceiling- mounted air movers. This reduces electrical consumption for data center cooling by nearly 30 percent.
