Microsoft Enters into an Agreement with EDS to Deliver Collaboration Services

Looking to market its Business Productivity Online Suite for enterprise customers, Microsoft has entered into a partnership with EDS, an HP company. Both companies are looking to deploy these services for more than five million users.

 

Microsoft (News - Alert) Business Productivity Online Suite is a set of messaging and collaboration solutions hosted by Microsoft. It includes Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Live Meeting, and Office Communications Online. According to Microsoft, these online services provide streamlined communication with high availability, comprehensive security, and simplified IT management.

 

The partnership between EDA and Microsoft dates back to 20 years. The companies provide enterprise ready communications and collaboration solutions to their customers. In view of the declining economical situation, EDS (News - Alert) has decided to cater to the rapidly growing global interest in online services. The company is already the first Business Productivity Online Suite reseller and Microsoft’s largest Business Productivity Online Suite delivery partner.

The EDS Workplace Services Offerings now offer various products such as Business Productivity Online Suite, including Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office Communications Online and Microsoft Office Live Meeting, into EDS Workplace Services Offerings. Microsoft provides a standard platform for EDS’ desktop and server operating systems and integrated development environments as a member of the EDS Agility Alliance.

 

Recently, Microsoft announced that the company is helping Mayo Clinic to introduce their latest Mayo Clinic Health Manager offering - a privacy- and security-enhanced online application that helps patients of Mayo Clinic to store medical information and receive individualized health guidance and recommendations. With Mayo Clinic Health Manager, users can store copies of their health records obtained from their providers, health plans, pharmacies, schools, government, or employers.
