ABI Research Launches Mobile Consumer Monitor

Technology market research firm ABI Research has launched a service to provide what it calls “a comprehensive view” of the mobile consumer. The end-users’ point-of-view is vital for the industry that is hoping to see mobile subscription grow to 5.4 billion by 2013.

More than anyone else, telecom carriers require knowing the view of end-users’ to device newer services as well as to retain the consumer base.

The market research firm says its new service will provide all vital information to carriers including regional traffic mapping, application and content trends and emergence of personalization services.

With mobile services we can create, buy, sell, and share, find out where we want to go and what’s nearby. Moreover, we can also use it as a wallet. According to the researcher, all these choices highlight one of the biggest challenges facing the industry and that is - mobile services personalization.

ABI Research Mobile Services practice director Dan Shey (News - Alert) said: “Customers increasingly want a personalized experience with their mobile device and service. Service personalization involves not only allowing them to find and select the right mobile services and applications but also to control, monitor, and pay for mobile services in a way that best suits their needs."

“Mobile consumers are increasingly defined by the applications they acquire to personalize their mobile experience, by their adoption of mobile broadband, their shopping choices, and how, when and where they use their mobile services,” said Shey.

End-user point-of-view on this complex telecommunication landscape is vital for strategists to plan, create and deploy mobile services. So, ABI Research (News - Alert) has launched this mobile consumer monitor.
