Spb Software Unveils Latest Version of Mobile Shell Application

Spb Software, a developer of Windows Mobile software applications, announced the release of its new version of user interface (UI) for Windows phones, ‘Spb Mobile Shell 3.0’.
According to Spb, its new Mobile Shell 3.0 is a unique mobile application that features two distinctive desktops - 'professional' and 'lifestyle'. The professional desktop is created for work scenario, while the lifestyle desktop is created for play scenario, thereby helping users with work-life balance.
The Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 has a widget-based UI. It features widget-based photo contacts along with Facebook (News - Alert) integration. It shows media player, profiles, weather, clock with world time, wireless manager and calendar with 2 weeks agenda view – all in a widget-based UI. Even management of ringtones, contacts, profiles, and wireless management is provided. The application is facilitated with 3D carousel and hardware accelerator support as well. Various integrated tools have been included along with account-sensitive email indicators, according to the company.
Spb said that its Mobile Shell 3.0, which is compatible with Windows phones running Windows Mobile 5 and later professional platforms, is available in 24 languages. The application supports different screen resolutions- qVGA, VGA, square QVGA and WVGA.
According to Spb, the previous versions of Spb Mobile Shell were shipped by a number of phone makers, such as Acer, O2, Pharos, Sony Ericsson (News - Alert), and Toshiba. According to Handango Yardstick, the company’s Mobile Shell application was the top most selling application of 2008 among all mobile platforms.
"It was challenging to design 3.0, as customer expectations are quite high," said Yaroslav Goncharov, product manager and CTO at Spb Software. "On the other hand, this level of success gave us confidence in our basic ideas and design philosophy, and we certainly feel that Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 has all it takes to be the strong foundation for a host of new and immensely popular Windows phones."
According to Spb Software's upgrades policy, all Spb Mobile Shell users who have purchased the product within the last 90 days can the exchange the previous version of software for the newly released one, at zero costs.
