Bravestorm (News - Alert), developers of BoldChat, a live chat, e-mail management functionality, announced its latest release, BoldChat v5.5, featuring  customization, security and proactive chat enhancements.

Modifications  to the invitation rule engine now allow online retailers to target first time versus return Web site visitors. The retailer can also prevent shopping cart abandonment by sending shoppers a chat invitation if they leave a particular page.

BoldChat includes secure instant live chat, SmartInvite proactive live chat engine, detailed reporting, fast deployment, no need for added IT infrastructure, conversion tracking, and customization and branding controls

“Our goal is to offer the industry's most sophisticated, flexible live chat offering along with these new business rules, we've also implemented the ability to target based on custom field settings,” said Matt Tharp, BoldChat's director of Professional Services. “This kind of granularity, gives our customers the opportunity to target shoppers deep inside the buying process who exhibit signs of abandonment. Features such as these can drive sales for online retailers, which is even more important in today's economic times. BoldChat helps us maintain an edge over other online retailers, and the latest version of the product makes it even easier for us to do that. As a part of our ongoing focus on increasing conversion rates and enhancing security, BoldChat fits the bill. It even offers us the ability to better understand why shoppers might abandon their carts, which is incredibly valuable to us. BoldChat is a significant part of our strategy for the upcoming holiday season.”

The customization enhancements to BoldChat v5.5 include, newly designed chat buttons and a more user friendly gallery as well new options for "chat unavailable" including the ability to show no button at all, redesigned visitor monitoring code to improve performance, and Enhanced Security.
