Alcatel-Lucent Integrates Host Integrity Check from InfoExpress onto Its OmniSwitch Series

Alcatel-Lucent, a provider of end-to-end communications solutions, has integrated InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper into its new OmniSwitch family of LAN switches.

InfoExpress offers network access control (NAC) solutions and personal firewalls to protect enterprise networks. The company’s core solution CyberGatekeeper Dynamic NAC (DNAC) Software Suite is stated to ensure safety of endpoints and is in compliance with corporate security policies.

InfoExpress CyberGatekeeper is a one-stop Host Integrity Check (HIC) and Network Access Control (NAC) product for enterprises. HIC capabilities screen endpoints and only allow them to access your network if they meet security policy requirements.

CyberGatekeeper, as said by the company, can be deployed easily in just a few hours, with minimal network changes. The company also mentioned that the product is available in an appliance/software version and a software-only version.

"IT departments want and need security solutions that are effective and easy to deploy. Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) is focused on making security systemic -- part of the basic design of a communications system - so we can provide a set of global capabilities that enable any company or IT manager to secure their network quickly and easily and recognize a broader business value in policy-enabled security," said Michel Emelianoff, Alcatel-Lucent vice president enterprise security solutions.

Emelianoff also mentioned that this integration with CyberGatekeeper will further allow organizations to protect sensitive corporate information and at the same time also support evolving technology needs including VoIP and mobility.

With the CyberGatekeeper Host Integrity Check (HIC) Module integrated with the OmniSwitch, the network edge switch is stated to ensure endpoints connecting to the enterprise network are checked for health and compliance with the endpoint security policy of the organization. Non-compliant endpoint devices are restricted to the remediation network until they are compliant.

"With trends like mobility, increased compliance and the further virtualization of business, customers are keenly focused on data security," said Stacey Lum, chief executive officer at InfoExpress. "Integrating Host Integrity Check from InfoExpress into its premiere line of switches, Alcatel-Lucent customers get the highest level of protection through established security policies."
