Jaxtr Announces Beta Launch of Jaxtr On-The-Go

Jaxtr, a social communications company based in Menlo Park, California, has announced the beta launch of Jaxtr (News - Alert) On-The-Go, which allows users to make free and low rate international calls from their existing mobile or landline phone without having to go online.

Jaxtr On-The-Go is an extension to last year released FreeConnect which is designed for new and existing jaxtr users who are on the move and need to reach their friends, family and business contacts abroad without access to a computer.

New service are available to over 150 local numbers in most major metropolitan areas, and  can be dialed by anyone, without the need to register with jaxtr, or buy any calling credits.

"We're simply ecstatic to be able to provide this service to our users while increasing the ease-of-use and access points for them to take advantage of our FreeConnect service as well as our best international calling rates," said Bahman Koohestani (News - Alert), president and CEO of jaxtr. "Many jaxtr users are travelers who lead very busy lives. This service provides the most convenient and independent way of calling contacts while on the road."

Users can dial a local Jaxtr On-The-Go access number and then the caller is prompted to enter a destination number starting with the country code. If that destination is supported by one of over 50 jaxtr FreeConnect supported countries, then jaxtr can complete the call free of charge using the FreeConnect service.

In addition, users with calling credits will also have the choice of taking advantage of jaxtr's super-low international calling rates to get immediately connected via direct phone-to-phone calls. Following the beta period, users will be able to purchase calling credits by phone.

"Since the start of jaxtr, we've had many requests from people with limited or no access to the Internet looking for a way to take advantage of the cost savings we offer," said Touraj Parang, co-founder and COO of jaxtr. "We're pleased that with Jaxtr On-The-Go, we can now provide them with these extremely low rates, especially during such hard economic times where every penny matters."

Launched in March 2007, Jaxtr has been serving nearly 10 million customers in 220 countries globally through their social networking pages. The company under this service allows its customers to call anywhere and to anyone for free on their phone. Customers need to just sign up with Jaxtr and get a local number to call their contact.
