, a company that designs and manufactures wireless communications devices, has just launched its new mini PCI-E modules - DTP-500D Rev A EVDO and DTP-600W HSPA for mobile Internet devices and other wireless consumer electronics.
) Corporation has been specializing in the design and manufacture of wireless communications devices, including real-time tracking devices, modems, and smartphones. AnyDATA products are reportedly certified by more than 54 carriers in 43 countries. The company distributes its products worldwide through wireless carriers and OEMs. The company’s 3G wireless modules are well-known for their small size and reliability.
The DTP-500D CDMA module operates on EVDO Rev A 800 and 1900 Mhz wireless networks. It features speeds up to 3.1 Mbps for the downlink and 1.8 Mbps for the uplink. Additionally, the module is backwards compatible to CDMA 1x RTT networks.
Some of the key features include GPS and A-GPS location capabilities as well as a built-in TCP/IP stack and a standard USB 2.0 interface.
The DTP-600W HSPA module operates globally on tri-band UMTS 850/1900/2100 wireless networks as well as quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 networks. The module transmits data at a blazing 3.6 Mbps downlink and 384 kbps uplink.
Both these 3G modules, is stated to use single chip technology from Qualcomm (News
). The modules, according to AnyDATA official, enable fast Internet access for consumer devices and machine to machine (M2M) communications that require low price solutions.
"Our new 3G modules are enabling a new wave of Internet connected consumer electronic devices to quickly transmit video, pictures, and large files," said Soon B (News
). Shin, chief executive officer at AnyDATA.
"We are excited to introduce these new broadband 3G modules that establish industry benchmarks for performance, size, and affordability. We're pleased to offer device manufacturers the choice of the latest broadband wireless technologies," added Shin.
Both the DTP-500D and the DTP-600W reportedly use a standard mini PCI-E 52 pin interface for smooth integration in consumer electronic devices. AnyDATA has used the same form factor and software compatibility for both these newly launched modules which easily allow Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to serve both their CDMA and GSM-based customers without spending further on redesigns.
AnyDATA Corporation stated that the engineering samples are available with immediate effect for the DTP-500D and the DTP-600W modules.Jai C.S. is a contributing editor for TMCnet. To read more of Jai's articles, please visit his columnist page.
