BlueStar Announces New Point-of-Sale Solution

BlueStar, a global innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility, and RFID products, has introduced a new, bundled point-of-sale and accounting solution featuring Intuit QuickBooks Point-of-Sale software and HP Point-of-Sale hardware.

BlueStar officials were of the opinion that combining offerings from these industry powerhouses will give the company resellers a recognizable and profitable package to sell, while providing a very attractive price point to the end-user.

"Demand for single-vendor solutions is on the rise," said Rob Dorsey, vice president of U.S. sales, Bluestar, in a statement.

Dorsey said Intuit's (News - Alert) point-of-sale software coupled with the powerful HP Point-of-Sale products provide BlueStar with a distinguished offering.

With features for increasing productivity and making processes more efficient, the combined solution will demonstrate a clear return on investment for the company resellers, he said.

The Intuit QuickBooks Point-of-Sale software includes Basic 8.0, Pro 8.0 and Multi-Store 8.0 versions.

Company officials claim the software allows retailers to better manage routine tasks, such as tracking inventory and customers. It also helps improve reseller profitability through customer retention features, tools for increasing sales, real-time inventory management, and instant reports.

"We are excited to offer QuickBooks Point-of-Sale, QuickBooks Pro 2009 and Intuit Payment Solutions to HP's network of point-of-sale solution providers," said Ron Gillies, director, Intuit Solution Provider Programs.

Gillies said this new relationship with BlueStar will allow the company to expand its powerful, yet simple-to-use point-of-sale solutions to more retailers who require local installation and integration services.

Intuit officials said that the company’s QuickBooks Point-of-Sale software will be marketed with the HP rp3000 and rp5700 Point-of-Sale systems. These hardware platforms can function either as customer transaction processors or manager workstations.

Featuring Intel (News - Alert) processors and sturdy, retail-ready construction, these systems include HP-branded options such as a touch-screen display, receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, magnetic stripe reader, and POS keyboard. Combined with QuickBooks Point-of-Sale software, the HP rp3000 and rp5700 Point-of-Sale systems offer a complete solution for point-of-sale, accounting and retail management applications.
