CA Intros Two Storage Resource Management Products

Seeking to help customers reduce the cost of their data storage in these difficult times, CA has unveiled its storage resource management software products for mainframe and distributed systems.

As companies produce and store large volumes of data in different formats, they are discovering that storage management is no longer as simple as it used to be. As the need of storage management evolves, service providers in this area are developing new technologies to cater to new demands.

Allowing the IT staff to more effectively and efficiently allocate capacity, monitor usage, define and enforce policies, CA (News - Alert) SRM r 11.7 provides centralized management of UNIX, Linux, NetWare, and Windows based storage resources across the company. The product also provides additional enhancements such as multi-path I/O support. This helps the customers to reduce downtime and solve the performance problems that can result from I/O bottlenecks, especially in query-intensive data warehouse environments.

For the IBM (News - Alert) z/OS storage environment, CA Vantage SRM r12 SP2 automates major storage management operations, including critical monitoring and analysis tasks and corrective actions. By predicting and preventing out-of-storage conditions Vantage SRM r12 SP2 facilitates continuous job processing.

Recently, the company announced that CA eHealth Performance Manager (CA eHealth PM) has achieved Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 2 certification from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS). Other CA products certified under Common Criteria include CA Single Sign-On r7, CA Audit r8, CA Admin r8, CA Security Command Center r8, CA Integrated Threat Management r8, CA Access Control for Windows r8, CA Directory r8.1, and CA NSM r11.1.
