AlgoSec, which provides Firewall operations and security risk management solutions, has announced an on-site hardware appliance solution for hosting AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer and AlgoSec FireFlow products.
AlgoSec's Firewall Analyzer and FireFlow automate traditionally manual, time- and labor-intensive tasks surrounding Firewall, router and VPN management. These are optimized for enterprises, MSPs, auditors and consultants.
The new AlgoSec Appliance 1000 Series enables the company to provision Firewall technology to customers in multiple form-factors, based on their network needs.
Currently, AlgoSec solutions are delivered as traditional software, via the software-as-a-service (SaaS (

The hardware model is suitable for a large number of organizations that find it more efficient to provision hardware solutions through one department. The SaaS, software, or virtualization models, on the other hand, are suitable for customer networks architected for coordinated interdepartmental efforts.
The hardware platform simplifies installation and usage with a low Total Cost of Ownership, AlgoSec said.
Additionally, AlgoSec Appliance 1000 Series streamlines operations by automating a number of security processes for customers utilizing their own servers. It is provided with hardened and optimized operating system and redundant components to ensure maximum uptime. New capabilities can also be added when required.
“AlgoSec understands that every enterprise network is different; each with its own unique needs and requirements,” said Avishai Wool, CTO and co-founder of AlgoSec.
“By architecting our solutions so that they can be provisioned in multiple form factors, we empower businesses by providing firewall and security risk management solutions that are tailor-made for their individual network environments.”
AlgoSec Appliance 1000 series is currently available in two models: the 1020 for networks employing up to 150 firewalls, and the 1080 which provides complete redundancy and failover for large enterprise security environments of up to 1000 different firewalls, the company said.
In a recent interview with TMCnet, Yuval Baron, CEO and co-founder of AlgoSec, said that in the current economic scenario, organizations are demanding greater output without increasing headcounts.
“In today’s market, companies are considering only ‘must have’ solutions. Certainly, automation that increases operational efficiency falls under this category,” Baron said.
“IT organizations are also looking at extending the lifespan of existing security devices, and consolidations to save space, energy and simplify manageability.”
