Equifax Inc., a provider of information solutions, has announced their agreement with Navigant Consulting that will enable customers of both companies to immediately access the data breach and identity theft expertise of the companies. Navigant Consulting is a global consulting firm that provides solutions for dispute, investigative, operational, risk management and financial advice.
"Businesses have a tremendous responsibility to protect the sensitive personal information of their customers," said Dodge McFall, senior vice president, Equifax Personal Information Solutions.
"Our agreement with Navigant enables Equifax to provide our business customers with quicker access to a broader array of response resources, capabilities, and expertise to address all aspects of a data breach from credit monitoring to data forensics," said McFall.
The industry standard for data breach response services is a turnkey credit monitoring solution that business can offer to its consumers or employees who are affected by a data breach. This has been developed by Equifax Personal Information Solutions and enables the users to access their credit files and receive alerts of any changes that have been made. They can also use the Equifax solution to get real time credit file dispute initiation, all round the clock and throughout the year through call centers or online. It also allows immediate fraud alert placement.
The expertise of the companies, Equifax’s product breadth and Navigant’s data forensics and information security governance capabilities allow businesses to preserve the trust between their customers and employees.
"Working with Equifax compliments Navigant's global reach and experience in responding to data breaches," said James Gordon, managing director in Navigant's Disputes and Investigations practice.
"Our forensic experts have deep experience in pro-actively working with clients to mitigate pre-breach liabilities and in conducting data breach and identity theft investigations," said Gordon. Navigant's investigative, information security and corporate governance teams and Equifax's information solutions and high volume notification capabilities provide clients a broader array of resources to minimize the risk of data breaches.“
