SofTulz.Net Releases Latest Version of Its Computer Management Software

SofTulz.Net has announced version 3 of Purgos, an open source computer management solution for enterprises.

According to SofTulz.Net, Purgos gives its users “complete administrative control over large numbers of computers from a single, easy to use console.”

By using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) for computer administration, Purgos instantly manages hundreds of NT workstations (Windows 2K3, 2K, XP) and server class operating systems.

With Purgos, network administrators can instantly install and manage software applications to any number of computers; collect and manipulate real time hardware, software, and system information; track the inventory of computers within a network and provide an ownership mechanism; and schedule or instantly run detailed reports on a wide range of computer information and configurations, the company said.

The solution also enables them to remotely control a computer as if physically in front of them and execute commands, processes, and batch files on any number of computers.

Purgos simplifies the task of software inventory and asset management by providing administrators the tools necessary for dynamic data collection, organizational grouping of assets, and real time information. The solution is designed to suit all sizes of networks.

Purgos also simplifies the process of computer maintenance and system updates and helps administrators easily schedule tasks even while the computers are being used.

Another functionality provided in Purgos version 3 is the ability to access the Windows desktop of a computer. This is useful especially when a user needs immediate assistance or the administrator wants to manipulate the computer. This functionality is added to Purgos through firewalls and routers.

Purgos ensures security to the data managed through the systems by authenticating all connections and encrypting the data transferred between the administrator and the computers.

Purgos works on popular operating systems such as Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 and integrates into any Windows network. The software can be downloaded at SofTulz Web site and is licensed under the GNU General Public License, officials said.
