Vordel Unveils Vordel 5 Cloud Edition

Vordel, an XML network management company focused in offering high performance, enterprise-level hardware and software products, has just announced the availability of its Vordel 5 Cloud Edition, which the company said, can connect local applications to the cloud, easily and more securely.
 
Usage of Internet based computer technology for a variety of services is termed as cloud computing. Platforms such as Amazon, Force.com, and Google (News - Alert), which are cloud computing platforms, offer significant flexibility and cost savings to businesses who seek to leverage cloud computing within their own corporate applications. Vordel has been providing high performance; enterprise-level hardware and software products to help enterprises confidently deploy SOA and Cloud-linked applications.
 
Vordel’s cloud gateway enables a “hybrid” model which mixes local applications with cloud computing resources. With this announcement the company is shipping Vordel 5 Cloud Edition with clear policies for connecting to Amazon Web Services (News - Alert).
 
“The more an enterprise increases the usage of cloud-based services, the greater the need to govern the exchange of data between consumers and providers of the service,” said Mark O’Neill, chief technology officer at Vordel.
 
According to Neill, Vordel’s cloud offering meets this deadline to mediate the connection between local applications and cloud-based services; control access to internal applications and monitor the usage of the cloud service.
 
Key features of Vordel’s cloud gateway solution include the ability to: mediate between externally and internally hosted applications; integrate local applications with offsite cloud services to leverage greater time and cost savings; connector to Amazon Cloud Services; facility to drag and drop links to quickly hook internal applications into cloud services.
 
Additionally the gateway solution allows monitoring cloud service availability and responsiveness using Service Level Agreements; Safeguard Confidential Data;
Monitor and alert cloud usage and costs; alerting for misuse of services and failure of SLA; Conserve network bandwidth and increase performance and decrease costs and
Control access between the organization and the services hosted in the cloud.
 
Moreover, to audit and archive interactions with the cloud services and secure data transfer is also possible with Vordel’s cloud gateway solution, said the company.
