Lian Li' s New Innovative PC-Q07 Mini-ITX Chassis

Mini-ITX is a 17 x 17 cm (6.7 x 6.7 inches) low-power motherboard form factor developed by VIA (News - Alert) Technologies and introduced to the market in April 2002. Mini-ITX is slightly smaller than microATX (also known as µATX, mATX, or uATX) which itself generally specifies a motherboard size of 24.4 x 24.4 cm (9.6 x 9.6 inches). Mini-ITX is such a small form factor that Mini-ITX boards have very low power consumption and can typically be passively cooled (no fan). This is why Mini-ITX has often been used in home theater systems (no fan = no fan noise). Mini-ITX enthusiasts have at times dispensed with conventional enclosures and have embedded Mini-ITX boards in everything from cigar humidors and toys to musical instruments and even a 1960s-era toaster, often using them as desktop PCs in an amusing manner.

And now, Lian-Li Inndustrial Co. Ltd of Keelung, Taiwan has launched the PC-Q07 Mini-ITX chassis. The black hairline-brushed all aluminum PC-Q07 allows for the Mini-ITX platform motherboard to be combined with traditional full sized components, thus saving you money and giving you the option to utilize components from a system you already have.

Designed to be passively cooled, it's strategically placed innovative air vents make it both silent and safe. The small chassis can fit snugly in any environment. System integrators should get quite a kick out of being able to design tiny, cost effective computing solutions with the diminutive PC-Q07.

Standing at 193mm wide x 280mm high x 208mm deep, the aluminum chassis has a reversible PSU bracket which allows the PSU to be arranged as you like. The chassis supports one 5.25-inch optical drive bay with one 3.5-inch HDD bay and one 2.5-inch HDD bay. The entire case weighs in at 1.1 kg.

The PC-Q07 has simplified installation kits for the 5.25-inch optical drives, as well as for the 1x 3.5-inch HDD bays with anti-vibration kits, as well as room for a 2.5-inch drive underneath. The internal space is arranged to keep everything well-ventilated without compromising on your hardware thermal requirements. The small profile, incorporating traditional desktop components within the ITX platform makes the PC-Q07 an attractive as well as an innovative ITX chassis.

The benefit to use full size ATX power components coupled with the Mini-ITX platform makes this unique innovative chassis well suited for those system integrators looking to design to a small profile, yet it should be sufficiently advanced system for their most demanding customers. The expense of resorting to a slim ODD and an ITX PSU or external PSU is completely negated. In addition, replacement components can be sourced from standard stocks, without the need to build up a special replacement inventory.

The Lian Li PC-Q07 is available now and has a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of USD69+VAT
