Mohr and Associates Intro CT100 Series Time Domain Reflectometer Cable Testers

Mohr and Associates has unveiled the CT100 Series Automated Metallic Time-Domain Reflectometer (TDR) Cable Testers required in modern analog/RF and digital communications systems.

Both the CT100 and CT100HF TDRS are portable and offer high-resolution with CT Viewer and a full-featured TDR analysis software package. The series includes optimum software tools which enable operators to detect and localize cable faults easily and fast.

The series also allows the recall of frequently used test configurations besides cable scans for analysis when required and storage can be made either on the device itself or on a host PC using CT Viewer. Test frequencies have extended to over 8.3 GHz in the CT100HF making it an ideal instrument in modern communications systems.

Mohr and Associates (News - Alert) declare that the CT100 is the most suitable replacement to the Tektronix 1502C TDR which has been discontinued now.

“Many organizations rely on the superior resolution of the Tektronix (News - Alert) 1502C, and have made significant investments in associated training and support programs. The CT100 has even better TDR specifications and its basic operation is very similar, so these investments won’t go to waste,” said Charles Mohr, principal Engineer of Mohr and Associates.

The CT100 Series TDRs includes features like horizontal cursor resolution of 0.003 in. (75 microns) and system rise times as low as 60 ps (20-80 percent, CT100HF), providing length measurements with maximum accuracy possible and optimum spatial resolution.

These instruments successfully captured rapid transient faults when tested with sequential sample rates of up to 250 KHz which is over 500 waveforms per second.

CT100 Series TDRs weigh about 5lbs or 2.3 kg and it includes a bright color screen, USB and 10/100 Ethernet connectivity and it offers support for USB peripherals like keyboards and barcode readers.

CT100 Series TDRs include the CT Viewer host PC software. This is a full-featured TDR waveform analysis software package suitable for Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows XP/Vista. CT Viewer allows operators to rescale, compare and perform math transforms on stored TDR waveforms. The software employs Microsoft SQL Server to make data storage reliable.

Mohr and Associates develop innovative test and measurement solutions for the communications industry. Besides the new CT100 Series line of high-resolution TDR cable testers the company also offers guided UWB radar liquid-level sensors and automated materials test equipment.
