DataCore Software Launches New SMB SAN Software Solutions

DataCore Software, a provider of storage virtualization, business continuity and disaster recovery software solutions, has announced an expanded line of new, feature-packed, SAN software starter packages.

These packages are priced for small-to-midsize businesses (SMBs) and include SANs to consolidate and manage storage and business continuity solutions to assure that consolidation works for you and not against you.

George Teixeira, president and CEO at DataCore Software, said that two elements necessary for safe and effective virtualization have remained out of reach for SMBs.

Teixeira said SMBs needed a solution that does both and does it at the right price.

The packages provide a new level of automated storage protection, ensuring business uptime. In addition, according to company, it also lowers the complexity barriers of SAN storage for Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V, Citrix, Virtual Iron, Parallels, VMware and other server and desktop virtualization environments.

For business continuity solutions, these packages reset the industry’s starting price point. Continuity solutions provide true auto failover/failback high-availability and fault tolerance.

The new software packages feature thin provisioning, data migration technology, storage performance caching software. Additionally, it comes equipped with snapshots for fast disk backups, remote site disaster recovery replication and DataCore’s High Availability (HA) data protection.

Company officials said that their latest offering fills the gap between low-end, Windows system replication solutions that provide limited single system data protection for VMs.

“DataCore makes cost avoidance a reality,” said Teixeira, adding that the software leverages existing storage investments, maximizes utilization and runs on virtually any Intel/AMD (News - Alert) hardware platform or even on a VM itself.
