ZyXEL is a provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products and NNU provides an easy to deploy, comprehensive Operations Support System (OSS) for managing public Internet access networks including Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, hotspot and metro deployments.
NNU’s TRACKOS software solution has been integrated with ZyXEL’s VSG-1200 v2 to address the needs of the hospitality market, and provides service providers with an all-in-one gateway in addition to support for a management suite that offers a single interface to manage multiple hotspot locations.
The integrated solution provides a number of benefits such as enhanced control and reporting capabilities, improved management of all billing, authentication, and roaming agreements.
ZyXEL VSG-1200 v2 functions as an access server and recognizes new users on a network and re-route all the different IP settings pre-configured on users’ computers. This enables hospitality industry to offer easy, secure and transparent High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) and other network applications to their customers.
NNU’s TRACKOS provides a complete solution for customers who want to manage public wired and wireless networks and the users of those networks. The company also offers 1-800 telephone support for both operators and end-users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
According to Munira Brooks, vice president of sales, marketing and strategic accounts for ZyXEL, the company has improved their VSG-1200 v2 product by adding NNU’s management functionality.
“This combined solution provides service providers, MSOs and VARs what they’ve been asking for—quality Internet access with total management control,” noted Brooks.
Cody Catalena, president and CEO of NetNearU observed that both partners aim to provide anytime, anywhere Internet access with the best controls, security and management for service providers and end-users.
“Integrating TRACKOS with the VSG-1200 v2 makes ZyXEL's already-proven product an even more attractive solution for hospitality customers,” said Catalena.
The easy to install gateway works with minimal maintenance cost and no administrative effort. The engineers have integrated support for NNU's TRACKOS into the main firmware of the VSG-1200 v2. According to companies’ sources, ZyXEL’s all-in-one hotspot, the G4100 v2, also supports NNU’s TRACKOS.
