BT Introduces Two New IT Solutions for U.S. Telecom Markets

BT recently announced the launch of two new Information Technology (IT) solutions introduced by its carrier services business BT Global Telecom Markets (GTM). The newly launched solutions are targeted at the U.S. utility companies and broadband and telecom service providers with the aim of helping them secure their IT infrastructures.
The two solutions introduced by BT are the BT (News - Alert) Dynamic Line Management (DLM) and the BT Field Force Optimization (FFO) suite of services. While both the newly introduced solutions are expected to improve operational efficiencies and result in cost-effectiveness for customers, they are also said to be capable of delivering flexibility and bandwidth to end users.
“Both BT’s Field Force Optimization and Dynamic Line Management solutions have been expressly designed to provide companies in the telecom and broadband provider marketplace with operational efficiencies,” said Mike DeVito, vice president – Global Telecom Markets, BT Americas.
“They also help ensure our customers are able to deliver the highest levels of service, reliability and security to their customers in today’s world of increasing IT complexities,” DeVito added.
Specifically designed for U.S. retailers and wholesalers of DSL (digital subscriber line) services, the BT DLM automatically monitors and fine tunes DSL lines by employing dynamic line management techniques. Such management and fine tuning results in maximized speed, stability and availability while leading to minimal instances of customer outages, service interruptions and truck rolls.
Since BT DLM manages data warehouse and overlays heuristics for the maintenance of past line behaviors, it is capable of also predicting potential trends and failures in the future. With such abilities, it can significantly save costs while giving better customer satisfaction, increased service revenues and decreased churn.
With ten years of experience in the development of solutions for its own mobile workforce, BT developed the modular Field Force Optimization (FFO) solution that can be used both as an enhancement for strengthening current field force solutions or as a whole turnkey solution itself. It is capable of delivering integrated services to companies with either a mid sized or a large mobile field force.
As it allows for efficient scheduling and resource management at the point of service, FFO can also help firms in improving their resource utilization while reducing vehicle mileage and carbon footprint in compliance with employee duty-of-care commitments.
