ExtraHop Networks, Inc., a network management company, has released the ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance System, a network management platform that provides a full view of the network landscape. The system provides full application and network visibility without any agents, configuration or overhead.
Operations teams do not have a clear understanding of how applications are delivered across highly distributed, virtualized infrastructures. Most application and network management tools provide only a telescopic or microscopic view. This results in long troubleshooting cycles and sub-par planning. The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance System uses a new approach by examining all application streams and transactions that traverse the network. The ExtraHop system provides a full set of statistical data which includes both trends and outliers, that is required to troubleshoot at the most granular level. With its deep knowledge of major networking and database protocols, the system is also able to capture and display problematic stored procedures and error details. The ExtraHop system enables a user to optimize performance, reduce cost and streamline operations.
According to Jesse Rothstein, CEO and co-founder of ExtraHop, “In this hyper-distributed, virtualized world, most IT organizations continue to struggle with tools that are inadequate for today's troubleshooting, performance-tuning, and capacity-planning needs. ExtraHop brings a brand-new approach to help IT organizations tackle these problems head-on.”
The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system is a passive network device. It auto-discovers all servers and devices connected to the network without any configuration and hangs off a SPAN or network TAP. The ExtraHop solution reconstructs the full picture of applications as they traverse the network which is then provided to the users through a rich web-based user interface. The user interface allows easy navigation and rapid drilldowns to any application, device, protocol, and even specific errors or database stored procedures.
The ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance system is able to predict network congestion by comparing negative trends with the standard performance levels based on time of the day and day of the week. Users of ExtraHop system will be able to tune load balancers and
TCP stacks since the system highlights critical tuning parameters and delivers tuning guidelines through online Help. The detailed baselines and reports having advanced visual analytics provided by the system also enable IT organizations to benchmark and measure the returns on any application.
