Energizer to Unveil a New Battery to Power Future Devices

Energizer is set to launch the Energizer (News - Alert) Zinc Air Prismatic battery to power future devices. Offering both high energy density and a thin form factor, Zinc Air Prismatic batteries are designed to provide OEMs with greater design flexibility. The new launch also provides greater run times and enables smaller devices.

 

The company intends to unveil the new battery at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show and claims that the product innovations to be showcased for OEMs at this event have resulted in the highest energy density of any consumer portable power solution (either disposable or rechargeable) with up to three times more runtime in contrast to similarly sized alkaline or lithium ion batteries.

 

Energizer is targeting its new Zinc Air Prismatic battery to OEM designers who are focused on innovating smaller, lighter and thinner devices. The company has put in years of hard work with OEMs to create this battery technology that can be used in a broad range of portable consumer electronic devices.

 

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Energizer is one of the world's largest manufacturers of primary batteries, battery-powered devices and flashlights. Earlier, this year, the company launched a long-lasting battery to reliably power wireless gaming accessories, digital cameras, hand-held games or MP3 players. The new Energizer Advanced Lithium, the latest lithium battery offering from Energizer serves as the gateway to lithium technology and performance.
