Tata Communications, a global communication provider, announced the launch of Application Performance Optimization (APO) service aimed at providing end-to-end network application management services to companies.
To enable the APO service, Tata Communications (

Ipanema, a Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization solution provider, the company said in a media announcement.
Ipanema (

Their service offers a continuous measure of performance at flow level, which is then aggregated in high-level indicators to quickly detect degradations and perform accurate diagnostics.
The new service adopts a unique consultative approach in the delivery of application performance services and helps companies improve the performance of network applications that feed core business processes, increasing productivity and user satisfaction by reducing transaction delays across the network, the company said.
Additionally, the service also improves application delivery and ensures continuous control, IT consolidation, bandwidth reduction and slow applications acceleration.
APO service is a globally managed service. It includes customized reporting of real-time environment and alarms (application performance degradation alarms). The APO promises high levels of scalability and can be implemented across thousands of sites, Tata Communications said. It can also propose application level service level agreements (SLAs) when bundled with customers' connectivity solutions, such as Internet Protocol (IP) and virtual private network (VPN).
To offer the service, Tata Communications at first evaluates a company’s goal and then designs a solution that fits their needs. As a next step, their environment is assessed and a WAN optimization vendor is chosen. After completing this process, an application performance is analyzed in order to design the optimization sequence.
“As network traffic increases, cost efficiencies demand effective utilization of each IT application,” said James Walker, vice president, Global VPN Services for Tata Communications, in a statement. “Tata Communications APO Service offers enterprises a unique modular, flexible, and repeatable service with a depth and functionality not seen before on a global scale.”
“Partnering with Tata Communications provides the opportunity for us to deliver cost-effective, fully customizable solutions to meet each customer's distinctive needs,” said Thierry Grenot, CTO, Ipanema Technologies, in a statement.
