Distributed Traffic Capture Systems and network taps provider
VSS Monitoring has shipped the first V 4.24 Distributed Filter Tap, a 10 Gigabit-per-second (Gb/s) Distributed Traffic Capture System for network monitoring. The high-speed tap provides a comprehensive view of large networks by acquiring data from any point on a network and feeding it to a central location for analysis.
A high port capacity tool, V 4.24 Distributed Filter Tap can selectively aggregate and filter traffic to ensure that the network monitoring devices are working optimally.

With the addition of 10 Gb/s devices, VSS Monitoring is now offering the most flexible range of traffic-capture solutions in the industry. VSS Monitoring solutions are compatible with all network topologies and scalable to any network size.
"Lack of network visibility impacts user productivity, causes lost revenue opportunities and increases IT costs," said Bojan Simic, Research Analyst, Network and Application Performance Management, Aberdeen (

"Distributed traffic capture technology represents the first cost-scalable solution for monitoring of large networks. Only a highly flexible system of distributed traffic capture taps can provide the tight coupling to the network infrastructure necessary for total network visibility," Simic continued.
With the increase in data traffic and the increased adoption of bandwidth-intensive applications such as remote access, wireless, VoIP, IPTV (

"You can't monitor what you can't see," said Terence M. Breslin, VSS Monitoring's CEO. "The only way to ensure proactive control of the network and meet regulatory requirements and ROI objectives is with the complete visibility provided by distributed traffic capture."
The V 4.24 Distributed Filter Tap comes with an intuitive user interface. In addition, users can choose from context-sensitive fields and pick lists and enter conditional expressions to select pre-defined filters and build custom ones.
