NEC Establishes Portfolio Management Team

NEC Unified Solutions has announced that it has established Portfolio Management Team (PMT) under the leadership of Jay Krauser, and has appointed Renato Mariani as general manager of marketing.

With PMT, NEC (News - Alert) expects to strengthen and broaden the solutions that it provides to customers. In addition, PMT is expected to help NEC channels with the distribution of these products.

PMT also will provide a single interface for partners who wish to add their products or capabilities to NEC's portfolio of offerings.

For NEC’s UNIVERGE Solution Partner Program, company officials said that PMT will provide Proof of Concept and Interoperability Testing, which will ensure that NEC delivers solutions that are designed to meet customers’ custom needs.

PMT will support the concept of UNIVERGE360 via further improvement of critical solution components into customer relevant solution packages that span Unified Infrastructure, Unified Communications (News - Alert) and Unified Business.

Krauser is expected to look after the technical design, integration and testing of NEC and third-party products into communications-enabled solutions for prominent vertical markets.

While technology marketing veteran Mariani will head the alignment of the marketing communications and field marketing teams with the sales organization to accelerate the velocity of UNIVERGE360.

The company believes that this strengthened marketing team, through targeted vertical marketing strategies, will provide an increased focus on broadening company’s small-medium business (SMB) customer base and increasing large enterprise customer penetration.

“As the market changes and our customer’s needs shift, NEC continues to align toward the future,” said Jeff Kane, president at NEC Unified Solutions.

He added that the company anticipates that these will enhance the focus on business and technology solutions that will illustrate the leadership in the communications solutions integrator space.

In addition to placing people at the center of business communications, NEC’s UNIVERGE360 identifies the roles people play in an organization. Officials said then it unifies the technology and business processes that allow employees to be efficient in those roles.

NEC helps companies unify their business communications through software, applications, development tools, and services. Company offers a complete portfolio for unified communications, wireless, voice, data and managed services, as well as systems integration and application development.

Earlier in November, the company announced an agreement with Premier Purchasing Partners, the group purchasing unit of Premier, to offer NEC’s complete IP telephony line under the UNIVERGE 360 framework to more than 2,000 hospitals and over 50,000 healthcare provider members of the Premier healthcare alliance.
